Membership:

Your fees entitle you to full membership of the Institute of Aikido Silverdale dojo, which allows you to train at any of the scheduled martial arts classes provided. Please ALWAYS ensure that your attendance is noted in the attendance software, as this accumulates toward your next grading. Please refer to Instructor in regards to grading requirements and the dates & times. Payment of your fees in full and on time will help keep our dojo up and running for everyone to enjoy. Any problem that may result in difficulty in payment of mat fees, can be discussed with Instructors to evaluate the continuing of training of that person until payments can be organised. We would rather have you training and catch up on payments when you can, than have you miss your regular classes!

Joining Fee:
A one-off Joining Fee of $20.00 is payable when you join the Institute of Aikido Auckland Dojo.  This covers our administration and registration costs, but as a new joiner you will also receive a copy of “Aikido – A beginner’s guide” written by Sensei Francis.  This well respected book is an excellent  introduction to the basics and reference point for new joiners.

Club Certificates and Badges
The junior members of the club are awarded four certificates (Body Movement, Weapons, Pins and throws) to acknowledge their understanding of the cores skills necessary to be ready for their first belt examination. The kids love the sense of achievement these bring in the early days of their Aikido careers, and they greatly help with motivation.

All students, both juniors and adults are awarded the club logo badge upon passing the first (white) belt examination. The cost of this is included in the $20 grading fee. Dan gradings are $50.

Uniforms & Weapons
Training suits (Gi’s), belts and bokken/Jo are all available through the club at a discounted rate.
